OUR OBJECTIVES, CONTINUAL AND SPECIFIC NEEDS AND PROJECT NEEDS

2002-2003 OBJECTIVES
Outlined below are a number of objectives which will highlight the activities of the 2002-2003.

1. Maintain the peak level of efficient operations achieved in 2001.
2. Secure financial resources designated to the improvements of the buildings and grounds which in turn will provide a much safer overall
environment for the children.
a. Move driveway further from front of house. b. Move the trash dumpster closer to highway.
c. Update all fire suppression/safety equipment. d. Grade property for proper drainage.
e. Construct a fence around the facility. f. Continue home maintenance and updating.
g. Construct an Office/Educational Building. h. Replace heating and air conditioning systems.
3. Obtain future stable sources of revenue which will serve to underwrite a
larger portion of the operational budget and relieve some of the current
50-60% community dependency.
4. Assure the academic achievement, spiritual growth, and emotional
development of every resident who enters the Horry County Shelter Home.
5. Constant water under both homes needs to be addressed.
6. Just a few minor repairs are needed inside the girls home, refurnish the
hard wood floors and carpeting replaced.
7. Many exterior improvements to the siding of both homes, front and rear
decks of both homes and both outside buildings.
8. Replace most of the tub and toilet plumbing in both homes.
9. Paint all interior walls.
10. Initiate major vehicle repairs.

Objectives 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 are clearly measurable goals for 2002.
Objective 4 is easily assessed, through report cards, academic honors, etc.

C. The objectives outlined in ("6-Purposes" B) were derived by the need to
demonstrate the most efficient use of all contributions. The Horry County
Shelter Home relies heavily upon continued support from the entire
community. However, renovation projects are not always completed within a
reasonable tinle due to the availability of funds. However, an ongoing search for donations, volunteers, and equipment will help towards the completion of many of these much needed projects.

* Twin bed comforters for boys and girls
* Bedroom pictures for boys and girls
* Coats, hats and gloves
* Heavy duty pots and pans
* Scientific calculators and book bags
* Forks and spoons
* Educational material
* Educational computer games





"MINOR PROJECT NEEDS"
* Outside basketball court surfaced
* Bicycle and roller skate area surfaced
* Refinish girl's home hard wood floor
* Replace girl's home carpeting
* Routine plumbing needs
* Repair damaged vinyl/tiled floors
* Install gutters on Boys home
* Installation of white picket fence
* Construct exterior security lighting
* Replace front porch decking on the Girl's Home
* Construct small office / education room
* Construct a shed for the Girl's Home
* Grading of property around the Girl's Home
